CLOSED....Manhattan Toy Company - Review & Giveaway

Thanks to Manhattan Toy, M and B got the chance to try out the Counting and Sorting Farm! As soon as it came, M was all about all the little farm animals that you could put in and out of their pens. The chick sits in the nest and on the bottom of the nest is a number 1, indicating that there is only 1 animal that fits in the nest. The other pens have coordinating numbers on them as well; the pen with the number 2 on it has 2 sheep, the pen with the number 3 has 3 pigs and the pen with the number 4 has 4 cows. Each pen is durably made, while the animals are squishy and soft.

M, who is 3, actually made up her own little game with the Counting and Sorting Farm. She would place only one set of animals in their appropriate pen and want me to guess which one they were in. She made sure that I didn't look and would place the 3 pigs in the number 3 pen and then the conversation went like this:

M: Okay Mommy, pick your number.
ME: I pick number 1. (M would then look in the nest)
M: Nope, no animals, pick again.
ME: Okay, how about number 4 (She would then look in the cow pen)
M: Nope, pick another number.
ME: How about number 3.
M: NO Mommy! You need to pick number 2! (she didn't want me to pick the one that actually had the animals in it until the end:)
ME: Okay, number 2 then. (Like she doesn't know, but she still looks in the sheep pen)
M: No animals here, pick again.
ME: Okay, so there wasn't any animals in 1, 4 or 2...what's left?....
M: 3!! There are 3 pigs in 3.

We seriously played this game the whole time I was making dinner and it was fabulous for her to keep busy and to reiterate the things she already knows: sorting, counting and number recognition.

What's not to love about the Counting and Sorting Farm from Manhattan Toy? It's an award winning toy that's made with quality. But, what I love most about the Counting and Sorting Farm is that it will continue to grow with M and B. Thanks again Manhattan Toy for a great product!

From the Manhattan Toy Website:

Founded in 1979 by Francis Goldwyn (grandson of motion picture studio owner Sam Goldwyn), Manhattan Toy pioneered the use of non-traditional fabrics in toy design and introduced delightful new body styles in soft toys. Although Goldwyn is no longer involved in the ownership of Manhattan Toy, we remain true to his vision of marching to the beat of a different (toy) drum.

Play is not only fun, it’s essential to a child’s cognitive, emotional, and social development. Our design process blends science and whimsy to produce toys that offer children a rich array of visual and tactile stimulation and unlimited opportunities for imaginative exploration.

Our unsurpassed quality standards ensure that our toys are both durable and safe. Prior to manufacture, each Manhattan Toy design is thoroughly tested to comply with the most rigorous international standards for children’s products. Our quality assurance team continually reviews designs and procedures to ensure that products exceed both existing and new safety regulations.

We are committed to providing quality toys and products that enrich young lives and developing minds. Safety has always been a focus at Manhattan Toy. Our toys are designed, developed, and manufactured with every child’s safety in mind. Manhattan Toy ensures that each of its products comply with federal toy safety standards of the US and Europe. Our products are manufactured to meet or exceed all applicable regulatory standards as well as voluntary safety standards. Our toys meet the requirements put forth by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and the European Union (EN71), as well as additional safety tests when applicable. These requirements include checking for the presence of lead in our toys. We further ensure testing integrity by using only third party, independent accredited toy testing laboratories.

I let my daughter choose, we went to toddler/preschool and award winners and she picked the toy you're giving away - the farm!

So I moved to Groovy Girls and she said, "I want the kitty, I want the kitty!" so other than the farm, we'll save our fave is Lunna.

Thanks!

Well, my number one pick really would be the counting and sorting since that is what Chloe is working on right now. She's two and loves animals.

I also think that the puppet pairs are really darling too!

Thanks!

If I were to buy a Manhattan toy right now, it would be the counting and sorting farm since my two year old is working on both those things right now. However, she also plays a lot with puppets and the Manhattan Toy company has beautiful finger and hand puppets
